International Visiting Faculty – Business Management, Business Law, English, Communications, CIS

Fraser Valley India invites applications for International Visiting Faculty to deliver UFV’s academic courses at GGD SD College, Chandigarh, India, in the areas of Business Management, Business Law, English, Communications, and Computing Science and Computer Information Systems.

This position will commence by August, 2023, and will require residency in Chandigarh, UT, India during the Fall 2023 semester (August-December 2023) with a possible extension for the Winter 2024 semester (January-April, 2024).

Chandigarh, UT, India

Chandigarh is located in the province of Punjab in north India. It is a Union Territory (UT) as well as the state capital of both Punjab and Haryana. A modern planned city under the guidance of M.K. Sharma, Chief Architect of Punjab and Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier, Chandigarh is a metropolitan hub of India’s north. Population: 1,055, 450 (2011 census). Time from Delhi: 4 hours (by car or train); 1 hour (by plane).

Remuneration:

This position will be remunerated in line with the North American pay-scale and will include international travel, private guest-house accommodation, local transportation, and provision for meals.

Recruiting Officer

Fraser Valley India invites applications for the position of Recruiting Officer at GGD SD College, Chandigarh, India.

This position will commence immediately.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Degree in marketing, business management, or similar;
  2. Minimum 7-8 years of experience in International Education, Sales, or Marketing;
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  4. Excellent networking skills;
  5. Open to travelling.

Primary Responsibilities:

Job duties of a Recruiting Officer include, but are not limited to:

  1. Receiving, screening and taking appropriate action on all correspondence i.e. telephone, walk-ins, official email, etc.;
  2. Recording and communicating accurate messages in a timely fashion;
  3. Answering program related inquiries and forwarding complex matters to the Senior Manager, Recruiting;
  4. Tracking the source of all student inquiries for marketing evaluation purposes;
  5. Understanding the details of Fraser Valley India and its academic programs in order to accurately promote its benefits to students;
  6. Arranging office display materials, posters, brochures, etc. and ensuring the recruiting office area is neat and presentable at all times;
  7. Providing assistance related to promotional activities, including but not limited to performing data entry, developing databases, conducting internet research, processing mail merges and preparing direct mailings/shipments;
  8. Preparing information packages, room bookings and catering needs for meetings as required;
  9. Developing, managing and servicing the agent network and meeting enrolment targets through agents and their operational territories;
  10. Travelling comprehensively and extensively to all those territories where Fraser Valley India wants their representation;

Coordinator, Student Life & Industry Engagement

Fraser Valley India invites applications for the position of Coordinator, Student Life & Industry Engagement at GGD SD College, Chandigarh, India.

Primary Responsibilities:

Job duties of a Coordinator, Student Life & Industry Engagement includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Student Life Activities:
    1. Coordinate and implement co-curricular and extracurricular activities and programs for Fraser Valley India (FVI) students in collaboration with student representatives, faculty, and staff, aimed at creating and maintaining a learning community that contributes to the overall experience and success of FVI students.
    2. Maintain calendar of, and send communications to, the FVI community regarding all Student Life programs, activities, and events.
    3. Prepare and edit student publications, posters, flyers, and literature used to promote student clubs and activities.
    4. Conduct student surveys to assess various Student Life program needs and development of new programs, events, workshops, seminars, and activities.
    5. Maintain accurate and up to date records of all Student Life activities (including but not limited to student files, contact information, student clubs, process documentation, etc.). Design a filing and retrieval system, keeping past and current records.
    6. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the course of Student Life activities.
    7. Collaborate with local professionals to provide access to FVI students for counselling services.
  1. Experiential Learning and Industry Engagement Activities:
    1. Coordinate and implement activities and programs (such as industrial visits, guest talks, etc.) for FVI students in collaboration with faculty, aimed at experiential learning and industry engagement.
    2. Maintain calendar of, and send communications to, the FVI community regarding all Industry Engagement programs, activities, and events.
    3. Prepare and edit student publications, posters, flyers, and literature used to promote Industry Engagement activities.
    4. Network with industry partners to identify opportunities for student internships and/or Co-op placements.
    5. Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders (businesses and entrepreneurs) to enhance and maximise experiential learning and industry engagement opportunities for FVI students.
    6. Organize student activities and events aimed at promoting entrepreneurship. Launch business incubators or similar programs that assist students in setting up their own business ventures.
  1. Alumni Engagement:
    1. Coordinate and implement activities, programs and events that promotes, fosters, and strengthens relationship between FVI community and its Alumni.
    2. Maintain calendar of, and send communications to, the FVI community regarding all Alumni Engagement programs, activities, and events.
    3. Prepare and edit publications, posters, flyers, and literature used to promote Alumni Engagement activities.
    4. Collect and maintain accurate and up to date records of all FVI/UFV India Alumni.
    5. Oversee operations of UFV Alumni Association’s Governance Committee and host meetings.

4. Key Projects:

  1. Coordinate and implement miscellaneous key projects at FVI as assigned to the Student Life and Industry Engagement vertical.
  2. Coordinate with the student body to recruit and mentor students for the implementation of key projects.
  3. Provide operational and administrative support in the implementation of key projects at FVI.
  4. Travel extensively, as and when required, for the implementation of these key projects.
  5. Coordinate with the Marketing and Communications department in the preparation of all promotional materials as it relates to these key projects
  6. Collect and maintain accurate and up to date records of all key projects.
  1. Monitoring protocols to ensure all UFV and Fraser Valley India policies are respected and followed.
  2. Any other tasks as assigned by the reporting supervisor.
  3. Keeping your supervisor, Manager, Student Life and Industry Engagement, or designate, apprised of all your activities as per established guidelines.
